ECU Employability Team
The ECU Employability team collaborates with ECU schools, service areas and internship hosts to offer a comprehensive range of resources for Work-integrated Learning, Curriculum Development Learning and Inclusive Employability, supporting a whole-of-university approach to provide students with the skills and confidence they need to develop their career readiness.
A significant proportion of ECU students state that career-related goals influenced their decision to study at university. Whether it is to develop knowledge in their chosen career pathway, to change careers or advance their professional standing, they all have something in common – their learning journey is connected to their career development.
ECU offers a comprehensive range of curricular and extracurricular activities to provide graduates with the skills and confidence they need to develop their employability from the very first day of university. In partnership with ECU academics, service areas, students and employers, the ECU Employability Team is committed to delivering an exceptional student experience for success in work and life.
- Embedding Career Development Learning through the ‘Career Ready’ modules in Canvas in collaboration with ECU’s Careers Advising team. The modules enable ECU academics to embed career development content easily within their course, alongside existing materials and discipline-specific curriculum.
- Providing a tailored, centralised work-integrated learning service, working in partnership with ECU schools and industry hosts seeking students from one or more discipline areas. From undergraduate placements to industry-connected research internships, ECU students gain industry experience by applying their discipline knowledge to the workplace.
- Improving employability outcomes for students with diverse lived experiences through Inclusive Employability initiatives. As more students engage with Higher Education, these initiatives identify opportunities to develop a range of curricular, extra-curricular and work-based activities that support career-readiness through recognising the strengths of diverse graduate capabilities.
